1.Characters A:In the novel The Catcher in the Rye, J. D. Salinger presents an somatogenic body of a typical puerile boy. Holden Caulfield is the narrator and promoter , who relives the geezerhood following his expulsion from Pencey Prep. Holden represents a young roiled boy who can non accept and take the world around him. though his ingenuousness regarding issues of school, money, and sexuality , Holden continues to reject reality and live in a fantasy world. Unlike more teenagers, Holden does not force the blueprint rebellious acts as any other. He distrusts his teachers and parents not because he wants to separate himself from them, but because he cant understand them. Holden finds it incredibly difficult to understand the world at all, merely trusting and respecting Allie his deceased pal, and Phoebe his younger sister. In Holdens eyes everyone else is sham. Holden constantly uses the word phony to appoint everything in the world which he rejects. In the novel, Holden rejects his roommate Stradlater, as he does not value the memories so dear to Holden as much. For example, In the novel Holden writes a English paper for Stradlater roughly his brother Allies baseball glove. When Stradlater later reads the paper, he is unimpressed as he never had as strong and closely excited relationship with Allie to really appreciate the piece. As pricy as Stradlater, Holden finds his most trusted teacher, Mr. Antolini, to be a phony when he attempts to touch Him. In conclusion, Holden is left with some good and yet bad memories leaving him confused with emotions.
